An essential part of successfully collaborating on Crossbeam is both sharing the right data with your partner and making sure you have all of the data you need from your partners. Want to be able to contact partner reps for information on an account? Then, you'll need their AE contact information. This involves your partner setting up data sharing rules to send you all the information you need to collaborate.

Rather than leave Crossbeam to send your partner an email or set up a call to request information from them, you can request data right from within Crossbeam using our Request Data feature.

You can access this features from 3 different places:

  1. The main Partner page
  2. The Partner Detail page
  3. The Sharing page

In each location, there is a " + Request Data" button in the top menu bar.

Requesting Data

The request data modal will look familiar to the steps taken when creating a data sharing rule

1. When to Share Data

Security first! Pick the population constraints within with the data will be shared.

Select a partner and a partner population you want to request data from. Then, select which of your populations it must overlap with for you to be able to see the requested data. Click "Next".

2. What Data to Share

This will look a bit different from when you are creating a data sharing rule. Because we can't tell you exactly what fields your partner has (security first!), we give you a free-form text box to describe exactly what data you want them to share with you.

It's important to be specific here!

3. Confirm your Request
Check that your and your partner's populations are correct and that you've requested everything you need. Click "Confirm and Send Data Request".

You will see your outgoing data share request in the "Data Share Requests" section on the Data Sharing page:

Your partner will be notified via email that you have requested data from them. The email will look something like this:

They will be prompted to create a data sharing rule from your request. You will be notified via email when they create a new data sharing rule.
